Powdersville Water Celebrates Safety Record

Powdersville Water Safety RecordOn June 19th, Powdersville Water held a safety celebration after completing 2,200 days of operations without a loss time event. “This new milestone has taken over six years to accomplish and reflects our employees’ commitment to safety and how well we look out for one another”, stated Executive Director Dyke Spencer. The 23 employees were treated by members of the Powdersville Water Board to a barbecue dinner followed by homemade ice cream. In addition, each employee received a shirt that read, Safety in every drop. That’s how we flow. “The safety and well-being of our employees is very important to Powdersville Water”, said Phil Landreth, Board Chairman. “We are all grateful for this record and believe it is truly something to be celebrated”. In addition to the obvious benefits to the employees’ personal well-being, there are also considerable savings to the district in regards to insurance premiums and work productivity. Powdersville Water conducts safety meetings routinely and has developed a very effective safety program called Priority One in which employees are recognized for safety-conscious behavior every month.
