Powdersville Water’s approved cross-connection policy does not allow for interconnection of private wells with the same piping served by one of our taps.

The SC Department of Health & Environmental Control regulates every public water supplier in the state.  We are required to make sure that our system is free of cross-connections that may cause contamination or degradation of water quality to the system from backflow or back-siphonage conditions. A private well connected to your household plumbing that is served by our tap is not only a potential danger to the inhabitant of the tap, but it could jeopardize the water quality in our distribution system. If you have this situation, please let us know (by calling 269-5440, option 4) so that adequate safeguards can be put in place to protect you and your neighbors. Any corrections at the tap will be free of charge.
